These books are fun an relaxing to read. There is no need to look for contradictions because they are inherent. The best thing to do is to picture the action as it happens because it is ridiculous and it will give you every kind of laugh that you may of ever experienced and more. It is a must read for anybody with a sense of humor, especially if it is even slightly British leaning.
