Great Introduction

This is a fine summary of the integral view and map. Although the cutting edge of Ken’s thinking is moving deeper these days, this still is my favorite book to give someone who wants to know what is going on with all this “integral” stuff.

Succinct and absolutely to the point !

Since Ken Wilber's discussion of the simplicity of ultimate conciousness and the ways of resisting it in No Boundary - John Needleman's agreement with Ken Wilber's view that Descartes' celebrated  “Father of the Mind-Body Split”  has been misunderstood and misrepresented as antithetical to transcendant  consciousness - and John Needleman's account of the transformation of our lives by ideas in contrast to concepts in The Heart of Philosophy …

I have observed at a distance the process of Ken Wilber's conscious evolution. This little book encapsulates most of his thinking summed up I believe by his statement on p. 56 that  “The health of the entire spiral is the prime directive, not preferential treatment for any one level.”  - I anxiously await his new book on integral spirituality.
