Person-centered approach
I love Carl Rogers! If you are a therapist you need to read this book. He does a wonderful job of detailing the characteristics that make up the effective therapist. If we can be genuine (transparent), practice unconditional positive regard towards our clients and attempt to understand the world from their perspective (empathy) then we are creating the ideal setting for our clients to realize their “true nature.” Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

A great book! Very insightful for those who find the whole relationship issue with others daunting. What Carl Rogers has shared is a strong reminder of the capacity of the human personality to demonstrate the beauty, the love, and the truth of our common unity, as it is seen through the eyes of a living practitioner, even though he has passed on. Each step gives a chronological-like reference to the processes he went through from an objective style, giving the qualities experienced and the developmental approaches he made toward true living relationship. His overall subjective-objective theme provided the classic detail of life lived in the generation of exploration, which is, quite sincerely, for everyone. For those of us not aware of the 'therapy of relationship', this book aids with deep recognition of the facts, as they are.
