Take a Romp Through History with a Philosophical Genius

Jennifer Hecht  takes us on an extraordinary romp through the history of the great doubters of dominant discourse and especially belief. She starts with a wonderful tour of the various Greek schools of philosophy and then charts a course through the Romans, Judaism, Chritianity, Buddhism, New England Tanscendentalism, Emily Dickinson and John Lennnon.

This deliciously long book is as highly readable as it is intelllctually deep and spiritually provocative. I recommend this in tandem with Sam Harris' recent best-seller The End of Faith for those of us who are longing for an engaged and open eyed spiritual life!

May Trans-Rationality prevail. It may just be our only hope!
